Eintracht Frankfurt has initiated talks for a potential loan deal with Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek.
The Dutch midfielder, who is seeking more playing time, had a failed summer move to Real Sociedad but could find a new opportunity in the Bundesliga with Frankfurt leading the charge.
Other clubs, including Real Sociedad, Girona, and former club Ajax, are also in the race, while Crystal Palace and Fulham have shown interest from the Premier League. Van de Beek’s likely departure is anticipated during the January transfer window.
“Manchester United is reportedly insistent on including an obligatory purchase clause in any loan deal for Donny van de Beek, a factor that contributed to the midfielder’s failed move during the summer transfer window.
Van de Beek, expressing his need for consistent game time, spoke about his desire to play regularly in an interview with the Daily Mirror in November.
“I am bouncing to play matches again. The manager is making different choices now. We have a big squad and I am not the only one knocking on the door. We’ll see in January what happens,” he said.
“I need to start playing games very soon – if not at Man United then at another club. I think I have to be ambitious. I have always been a lover of the game. I am absolutely crazy about football. I earn a good living at United, but money is not my motivation. I want to enjoy my work every day.”
