Inter’s Dutch international defender Denzel Dumfries is ready to accept a new contract offer at the Serie A champions despite making noises about a move to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old, who is preparing for Tuesday’s Euro 2020 last 16 tie against Romania, is entering the final 12 months on his current deal with the Nerazzurri and recently stated that it had always been his ambition to play in the English Premier League.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport however, the situation looks to have changed despite his agent looking to double his salary to €5.5M per season.

Inter, for their part, are understood to be prepared to raise his current salary to €4m maximum, the same amount that recently convinced Federico Dimarco to commit his future to the club. Reports now claim that Dumfries, who arrived at Inter in 2021 from PSV Eindhoven, is also ready to put pen to paper on a new deal.
