David de Gea could be ready to make his return to football in the coming weeks.

The 33-year-old is without a club, following his exit from Manchester United in July 2023, and he is yet to find a new career challenge.

After his move departure from Old Trafford, the former Spanish international received free transfers offers from Turkish sides and teams in La Liga, but no move materialised.

The latest update from The Athletic claims de Gea’s situation will be cleared up imminently as rumours continue to grow.

As per a fresh report from the Daily Mail, the main offer under consideration for de Gea comes from a Serie A club Genoa.

De Gea’s stance over the last 12 months indicates he wants to remain in Europe and a switch to Italy would fulfil that.

Genoa finished 11th in Serie A last season, and have designs on a push for European qualification in 2024/25, with de Gea expected to be offered a one year deal.
