Cody Gakpo has been discussing some of his Liverpool teammates.

Speaking to ESPN on TikTok, Gakpo was taking part in a challenge where he had to quickly describe a number of his teammates.

One Liverpool player whose talent is almost beyond description at times is Thiago Alcantara.

The Spaniard is one of the most naturally gifted and skilful players at Anfield. But, unfortunately, we’ve not been able to see his talent all that much as of late.

Indeed, injuries have taken their toll on Thiago over the past 18 months, but despite this, Gakpo has been full of praise for the £20m midfielder.

The striker spoke highly of Thiago, praising him for how skilful he is.

“Thiago Alcantara?” Gakpo was asked.

“When I think about Thiago I think about skills,” Gakpo said.

Thiago Alcantara’s plight at Liverpool is such a shame, because, on his day, there’s an argument to make that he’s Liverpool’s best player.

The way his peers talk about him tells you all you need to know about the midfielder.

Mohammed Kudus said that Thiago is the best player he’s ever faced. Tyler Morton recently called him an unbelievable talent, and now, Gakpo has spoken about how skilful he is.

It’s easy to forget just how good Thiago is due to the fact he’s barely played as of late, but make no mistake about it, the Spaniard is one of the Premier League’s best.

Unfortunately, this chapter of Thiago’s career is coming to a close. He’s already looking for a new club once his contract expires this summer and it looks as though he may have played his final game for Liverpool already.

Fingers crossed Thiago can get back to his best at his next club, because when he’s fit and firing, he’s one of the most joyous players in the world.
