Carlo Ancelotti Secures Second Place in Real Madrid’s Managerial Records In the Supercopa de Espana semi-final victory against Atletico Madrid,
Carlo Ancelotti moved into second place on Real Madrid’s list of managers with the most games in charge.
This marked Ancelotti’s 263rd game, equalling Zinedine Zidane’s record.
The win sets up a final against either Barcelona or Osasuna.
While the final will see Ancelotti claim second place for himself, surpassing Zidane, the existing record holder is Miguel Munoz, who managed an astounding 605 games between 1959 and 1974. Munoz also holds the record for the most wins, with 357 victories.
Ancelotti, with his current contract until 2026, would need over five full campaigns with a similar number of matches to equal Munoz’s record.
Despite rumors of retirement, Ancelotti’s commitment to Madrid remains strong.
