Barcelona are working on a host of contract renewals including an extension for Marc Casado.
The 20-year-old has established himself as a regular fixture in Xavi Hernandez’s matchday squads this season.
The former Spanish youth international has been utilised sparingly by Xavi with just two La Liga appearances.
That lack of action in the first team had opened up the possibility of a summer exit for Casado but Barcelona are keen to retain him in Catalonia.
Hs current deal includes a one year extension trigger option, which Barcelona are expected to activate, alongside an additional three years.
As per the latest update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks between Casado’s representatives and Barcelona are ongoing since April, and are progressing towards a conclusion.
Casado wants to remain at Barcelona next season, and Xavi could offer him more action in the final weeks of the current campaign, with a top four finish already secured by La Blaugrana.
