Arsenal is set to commence their journey for a 15th FA Cup triumph as they face Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in the third round.
On Sunday afternoon, the third-round draw unfolded, welcoming clubs from both the Premier League and the EFL Championship into this season’s tournament.
The last encounter between the Gunners and Liverpool in the competition occurred in February 2014, with Arsenal emerging victorious with a 2-1 scoreline. This marked the 17th meeting between the two teams in the FA Cup.
Manchester City, the reigning champions of the oldest Cup competition globally, will play host to Huddersfield Town, while last season’s finalist, Manchester United, is set to visit 2013 winners Wigan Athletics.
In additional pairings, Chelsea is scheduled to host Preston, Crystal Palace will welcome Everton, Burnley will visit Tottenham Hotspur, and the Tyneside derby will unfold with Newcastle United facing Sunderland.
The 32 third-round proper ties are slated to unfold across the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, on the 6th and 7th of January 2024.
The victorious teams in the third round proper of the Emirates FA Cup will secure a share of £105,000 from the prize fund.
