Considering how laid back Arsenal have been in the summer transfer market so far, these final hours could prove really busy.

Mikel Arteta has only seen two new faces land in north London over the summer with the Gunners selecting their targets very carefully.

The latest player to be confirmed as an Arsenal player is Mikel Merino after his move from Real Sociedad was sealed earlier this week.

Merino has already bedded in at Arsenal having trained with his new teammates ahead of the game on the weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion.

A matter of hours now remain in the market and there is potential for Arsenal to see a number of player sold before Friday night’s deadline.

However, there is also scope for additions with Arsenal on the search for a possible new forward before the window shuts for the year.

Arsenal could now land cut-price deal for Premier League striker

A new striker is a real option for Arsenal who have been linked with a late move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

One player who Arsenal are now preparing a move for is Joan Garcia of Espanyol with Aaron Ramsdale heading off to Southampton.

But there is certainly a pressing need for the front line to be bolstered and there is now one player who could be landed for a cut price deal.

According to GiveMeSport, Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson could now be attained for as little as £50m.

It is believed the Seagulls value their 19-year-old striker between £50m-£80m having suffered massively through injuries of late.

Arsenal had been previously quoted £100m for the ‘special’ Ferguson in the past which means they could be getting a whopping 50% reduction.

However, Brighton are hoping Ferguson will remain at the club for now despite receiving interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Evan Ferguson would be a big risk for Arsenal to take

With the Premier League title at stake, Arsenal are in need of a reliable striker who can provide them a comfortable 15+ goals in the Premier League.

Ferguson – albeit being an exciting prospect – is yet to show that at all with injuries proving a real problem for the youngster.

Over the last two seasons, the Republic of Ireland international has returned six goals in both league campaigns which is promising for a youngster.

But when Osimhen could have been signed for around the same money – granted, much higher wages – it shows the risk surrounding a big money move for Ferguson.

At the same time, if Ferguson does enjoy a big season under Fabian Hurzeler, best believe that £50m price tag will soon shoot back up.
