Former Tottenham and inter manager Antonio Conte will not be Napolis next manager in the summer, with the club now set to pursue other moves.
With reports today stating that Vincenzo Italiano has a general agreement with Napoli, it seems as if the Partenopei have met disappointment on the Conte front.
La Repubblica (via CN24) have reported that the reason why Conte won’t be Napoli’s next manager is that he has withdrawn from the saga. Contacts did take place between the two parties and they did attempt to find an agreement but Conte will now not be amongst the candidates to become the club’s next manager.
Conte had question marks about the Partenopei’s ambitions and standards and that has been described as a key reason for him withdrawing himself from the saga. Conte also felt that Napoli made him feel like he was one of the many candidates for the role because of the links that appeared in the media for their managerial hotseat. The media hype is said to have become very annoying for him.
