Ansu Fati is facing one of the most important summer in his short career, as he aims to keep himself in Barcelona’s plans for the new season. Things had started well, and he was impressing Hansi Flick during pre-season training, but disaster has now struck.

Barcelona have announced that Fati suffered a foot injury during training on Tuesday, and it will force him to miss the club’s upcoming tour of the United States. He will undergo conservative treatment over the coming weeks.

It’s not known how serious the injury is, but it’s enough for Fati to be out of action for the next couple of weeks at least. He will be desperate working to ensure that he makes Barcelona’s first match of the new season, against Valencia on the 17th of August.

Fati has had rotten luck with injuries over the last few years, and this latest one comes at a terrible time. He would have hoped to impress Flick during the upcoming friendly matches against Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan, but unfortunately, it is not to be for the luckless Barcelona attacker.
