Man Utd Statement Reveals Marcus Rashford’s Disciplinary Action

Rashford, who was reportedly unwell during United’s Friday and Saturday training sessions, had been seen partying at a Belfast nightclub on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag excluded Rashford from Sunday’s FA Cup match against Newport County despite the forward expressing readiness for the game.

Instead, he was instructed to train at Carrington.Following a meeting between Rashford, his agent, Ten Hag, and United’s football director John Murtough, a statement was issued on Monday addressing the incident.

The statement read, “Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been handled as an internal disciplinary matter, now concluded.”

The Sun reports that Rashford’s penalty includes a fine of £650,000, roughly equivalent to two weeks of his wages.

This incident isn’t the first time Ten Hag has disciplined Rashford for a conduct breach. In December 2022, the forward was benched for a trip to Wolves due to a late arrival at a team meeting.

However, Rashford later came off the bench to score the winning goal in a 1-0 victory.Interestingly, Rashford is eligible for selection as United faces Wolves this Thursday.

A win for Gary O’Neil’s side could propel them above the Red Devils in the standings, with Ten Hag’s team potentially dropping into the bottom half if Chelsea and Newcastle also secure three points midweek.
