On Christmas Eve, the anticipated confirmation of the British billionaire’s investment was revealed.

Ratcliffe and his team are poised to assume control of football operations as part of the agreement.

The Premier League’s approval is pending and expected by early March or earlier. Meanwhile, Ratcliffe, a lifelong United supporter, plans to attend this weekend’s match against Spurs at Old Trafford.

Having already toured United’s Carrington training facilities in the new year, Ratcliffe met with men’s boss Erik ten Hag, women’s team manager Marc Skinner, and players from both sides.

His responsibilities will encompass overseeing men’s, women’s, and academy football operations.

In November 2022, the Glazer family unveiled plans to explore “strategic alternatives” for Manchester United, their ownership dating back to 2005.

This could manifest as various takeover options, both full and partial. After months of rivalry with Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim for control, the Glazers valued the club higher than the full takeover offers, prompting Sheikh Jassim’s withdrawal.

Ratcliffe then negotiated a different deal, securing majority control while maintaining the goal of eventual full ownership.Ratcliffe relies on trusted advisors, including Sir Dave Brailsford, known for his success with British Cycling and INEOS Grenadiers.

Brailsford, the director of sport for INEOS since 2021, observed United’s victory over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup third round from the DW Stadium stands.
