Tottenham Secures Full Agreement for Timo Werner Signing

Recently expressing interest in Timo Werner, news now reveals a comprehensive agreement.

David Ornstein from The Athletic discloses that Tottenham is set to secure the Germany international on an initial loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

The deal includes a purchase clause valued between £13m and £17m. Earlier this week, 90min reported Manchester United’s pursuit of Werner, initiating an inquiry to Leipzig.

However, the latest update indicates Werner’s imminent move to London for a medical and finalizing the transfer to Spurs.

Coincidentally, Timo Werner might debut for Tottenham against Manchester United in their upcoming Premier League clash at Old Trafford next Sunday.

Leipzig recently confirmed ongoing discussions about Werner’s departure, with manager Marco Rose revealing the 27-year-old’s desire for more playing time in preparation for Germany’s Euro 2024 campaign.

“He wants to go on loan, we wish him all the best. He needs to play as he wants to go to Euro 2024, and we keep our fingers crossed for him,” Rose stated to Sky Sports Germany.

Following a mixed stint with Chelsea, where he scored 23 goals in 89 appearances and contributed to their Champions League triumph, Werner is set to return to the Premier League.

Tottenham’s initial interest in Werner dates back to 2015, but a deal wasn’t reached, leading to the signing of Son Heung-min from Bayer Leverkusen.

Son, now the Spurs’ club captain for the 2023/24 season, remains a key figure at the club.
