Sancho, sidelined from Manchester United since August following a dispute with Erik ten Hag, who cited training performance issues, has rejected the claims on social media and declined to apologize.
Consequently, he was directed to train separately from the first-team, fueling expectations of a January transfer.Recent European reports suggest Borussia Dortmund, Sancho’s former club, is on the verge of securing him on an initial loan deal.
According to BILD, the agreement is nearing completion, with final details such as the loan fee and tax arrangements yet to be finalized.
The deal, expected to benefit Dortmund, is anticipated to go through soon, with Manchester United set to receive approximately €3m as part of the arrangement.
Sancho initially joined Borussia Dortmund at the age of 17 in 2017, departing Manchester City for more playing time.
During his tenure, he netted 50 goals in 137 appearances before making a £73m move to Manchester United in 2021.
Despite high expectations, the winger has struggled to meet them at Old Trafford, managing only 12 goals in 82 appearances.
Set to reunite with Dortmund for a mid-season training camp in Marbella, Sancho’s return coincides with friendly matches against AZ Alkmaar and Standard Liege on January 7 and 9, respectively.
Dortmund resumes Bundesliga action with a clash against Darmstadt on January 13, followed by a visit to Koln on January 20.
Sancho is poised to make his second home debut on January 28 against Bochum at Signal-Iduna Park.
Dortmund faces the challenge of a winless streak in their last six games, dropping to fifth in the Bundesliga standings.
Despite domestic struggles, they secured top position in a challenging Champions League group and will face PSV Eindhoven in the last 16.
