Liverpool has officially announced the termination of Fabio Carvalho’s loan spell at RB Leipzig, bringing the Portugal youth international back to Anfield.
Carvalho, who was loaned out after a subdued debut season at Liverpool following his move from Fulham, had joined Leipzig for the 2023/24 campaign. The decision to cut short the loan term was confirmed by Liverpool in a statement, stating that Carvalho made 15 appearances for RB Leipzig during the first half of the 2023/24 season.
Fabio Carvalho, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022, has returned to Anfield after terminating his loan spell at RB Leipzig.
The 90min previously reported Liverpool’s intention to recall Carvalho due to his limited playing time at Leipzig.
Carvalho had sought a loan move during the summer, a request granted by Liverpool despite initial plans to keep him for the entire season.
However, his time in Germany saw minimal game time, with only 360 minutes played across all competitions since the start of the season. The Reds will assess Carvalho’s situation before deciding on potential future loan moves.
