Victor Osimhen replies Fan Who Asked Him to Join Chelsea

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen hinted at a potential move to Chelsea with a vague response to a fan’s request for him to join the club

On his 25th birthday, Osimhen received numerous messages of goodwill, including a particular fan post urging him to join Chelsea. The post featured a young Osimhen in a Chelsea kit and read, “Happy birthday Victor Osimhen, please come and rescue Chelsea soon.”

In reply, Osimhen simply posted three emojis – two hearts and the ‘folded hands’ emoji, which is commonly used to symbolize praying or hoping for something.

Chelsea have shown interest in Victor Osimhen for a while and were considering making a bid for the striker in January. However, Osimhen signed a new three-year deal with Napoli, complicating Chelsea’s immediate plans.

His fresh contract includes a release clause set at a base of €120m (£104m). This amount might increase due to specific conditions before it can be activated.

Despite their interest, Chelsea might need to wait patiently if they want to secure Osimhen’s services. The team has been facing challenges in scoring goals this season and hoped to add a prolific striker in January to boost their performance in the Premier League.

Apart from Osimhen, Chelsea is eyeing other expensive options like Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez. Additionally, their attacking options recently improved with the return of Christopher Nkunku, a £52m summer signing, from injury.
