Dele Alli Returns to Everton Training After 12-Month of Absence

Dele Alli is back in Everton training, aiming for his first appearance in over a year for the Toffees.

The 27-year-old midfielder, who joined Goodison Park in the winter transfer window of 2022 from Tottenham in a complex deal yet to involve any financial transactions, has made 13 appearances for Everton.

His last game for the club was in August 2022, just before a loan move to Besiktas. However, his time in Turkey didn’t go as planned, and he hasn’t played since February 26, 2023.

Having faced challenges both on and off the field, Dele Alli has remained in the shadows, somewhat forgotten.

However, Everton manager Sean Dyche recently shared that the former Spurs star is making progress towards a comeback. Dyche mentioned, “He is going well. He is back on the grass with the sports science and fitness side, going through football-related drills, but the actual freedom to come and join in with us is not there yet.” Breaking through that barrier, Dele has now rejoined full training.
