Victor Osimhen Named AIC Footballer of the Year

Osimhen secured the 2023 accolade, primarily attributed to his prolific goal-scoring role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph.

The Nigerian striker netted 26 goals in 32 appearances, instrumental in Napoli’s first Serie A title in 33 years.

Despite returning from a recent hamstring injury, the 24-year-old has already added six goals this season.

The prestigious award has been previously claimed by football luminaries like Rafael Leao, Gianluigi Buffon, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrea Pirlo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The AIC awards, which began in 1968, include several notable accolades, including the team of the year, coach of the year, club of the year and goal of the season.
