Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed that Virgil van Dijk is displeased with him after sustaining cuts on his knees while celebrating the late winner in Sunday’s 4-3 triumph against Fulham.

Alexander-Arnold secured the victory with an 88th-minute goal, and his unique celebration involved a chest-first dive instead of a knee-slide, which resulted in cuts on his teammate Van Dijk’s knees.

Despite the minor setback, Alexander-Arnold emphasized the significance of the win and the team’s emotional connection, highlighting the importance of maintaining momentum in the upcoming fixtures.

Liverpool initially took the lead in the first half with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick striking the underside of the crossbar.

However, Fulham responded with Harry Wilson’s goal to level the score. Alexis Mac Allister’s impressive goal restored the lead for Fulham, but Kenny Tete secured a second equalizer.

Bobby De-Cordova Reid then put Fulham ahead, only for Wataru Endo’s thunderous strike to equalize once again for Liverpool in the 87th minute. In a thrilling finish, Alexander-Arnold secured the victory a minute later.

Reflecting on the match, Alexander-Arnold expressed his delight and emphasized the importance of securing three points, especially with Arsenal’s positive result.

He highlighted the significance of maintaining momentum during the busy Christmas and January period and acknowledged the need to avoid dropping points, particularly at home.

Despite some defensive lapses, Alexander-Arnold credited Fulham for capitalizing on Liverpool’s mistakes and stressed the importance of securing the win.
