Arsenal Open Contract Talks with Key Defensive Stars

Now, the focus is on defensive duo White and Tomiyasu, with Arsenal aiming to finalize new contracts for them by January. While White’s current deal extends until 2026, Arsenal is eager to acknowledge his contributions with an upgraded contract.

Similarly, Tomiyasu’s contract runs until 2025, and although there’s an option to extend, Arsenal intends to offer him an improved deal.

The club is confident about concluding both extensions before the January transfer window opens, showcasing their commitment to key defensive assets.

While Ben White has consistently been in the starting lineup for Arsenal, Takehiro Tomiyasu has primarily played a squad role since joining in 2021. Recent speculation hinted at Tomiyasu considering a departure, especially with reported interest from Bayern Munich, seeking more regular playing time.

Gunners manager Arteta responded to these rumors, expressing a strong desire to retain Tomiyasu. Arteta stated, “I really want him to stay. I value the player a lot. I really like him. He’s loved and respected by everybody at the club.

He’s gaining significant playing time now, reaching the level of availability crucial to making an impact on the team. He will continue to be with us.” Arsenal aims to keep Tomiyasu despite external interest, emphasizing his importance and contributions to the team.
