Samuel Chukwueze netted his first goal for AC Milan, but the Rooseneri endured a 3-1 home loss to Borussia in their UEFA Champions League encounter on Tuesday night.
Olivier Giroud squandered an opportunity to put the hosts ahead, failing to convert from the penalty spot in the sixth minute.
Borussia Dortmund secured their penalty four minutes later, duly converted by Marco Reus.
Chukwueze leveled the score for AC Milan eight minutes before halftime, receiving a pass from Davide Calabria inside the box and smoothly slotting the ball past two defenders. Despite his effort, Dortmund secured the win with goals from Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and substitute Karim Adeyemi in the second half.
In another match, Zaidu Sanusi played the full 90 minutes for FC Porto in their 2-1 loss to Barcelona. Porto took the lead through Pepe Acquino, but Barcelona fought back, with Joao Cancelo equalizing two minutes later, and Portugal midfielder Joao Felix securing the victory in the 52nd minute.
Meanwhile, at the Volksparkstadion, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke featured in Royal Antwerp’s 1-0 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk. Yusuf started the game, and Ejuke came on for Gyrano Kerk after the break.
In Bern, Peter Olayinka was an unused substitute in Red Star Belgrade’s 2-0 loss to Young Boys.
