Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t complete the entire 90 minutes for Al-Nassr in their recent AFC Champions League match due to a neck problem, resulting in his substitution.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner made a significant impact while on the field, securing advancement for his Saudi Arabian club in the continental competition. Al-Nassr’s 0-0 draw against Persepolis allowed them to progress as Group E winners.
Ronaldo’s substitution in the 78th minute raised concerns among Al-Nassr supporters and his global fan base. However, head coach Luis Castro is optimistic about the legendary 38-year-old’s availability for the club’s upcoming match. He mentioned to reporters about the injury update, saying, “The medical team is studying the injury and will do everything to make sure he is ready for the next game.”
Ronaldo earned further praise during the Persepolis game when he advised the match referee to overturn a decision that initially awarded him a penalty. The football legend informed the officials that he hadn’t been fouled and requested the cancellation of the penalty.
Al-Nassr is set to return to Saudi Pro League action against league leaders Al-Hilal on Friday. Ronaldo, who has scored 24 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions this season, aims to be fit and play a crucial role in this significant title-chasing match.
