Troubling incidents occurred in France when a pub packed with Newcastle United fans was targeted by a faction of Paris Saint-Germain ultras.

The upcoming Tuesday night fixture will witness French powerhouse PSG hosting Premier League representatives Newcastle as the Magpies strive to maintain their Champions League aspirations.

Before this pivotal match, a video surfaced on social media, depicting clashes between Newcastle supporters and PSG ultras.

As depicted in the video, the visiting Magpies supporters attempted to block the doors, aiming to prevent PSG ultras from entering the pub.

The escalating tension led to the throwing of flares, chairs, and glasses amid clashes between the two groups of fans.

Following the incident, the Newcastle United Supporters’ Club took to social media, advising, “Stay safe in Paris tonight. Stick together and look after each other.”

Reports indicated that local law enforcement had cautioned pubs accommodating away fans to consider closing their doors earlier as a precautionary measure to minimize the potential for violence.

Ahead of the upcoming match, Newcastle is aware that securing at least one point is crucial to sustain their aspirations in the Champions League.

Following consecutive losses to Borussia Dortmund from the German Bundesliga, Eddie Howe’s team currently holds the third position in Group F. They trail PSG by one point and league leaders Dortmund by two points.

Should Newcastle suffer a defeat against the French club while Borussia Dortmund secure at least one point against AC Milan, the Magpies will face elimination from the Champions League.
