Having been the leading goal-scorer in the previous Laliga season with 23 goals in 34 games, Lewandowski also recorded seven assists. This marked his debut season in Spain following his transfer from Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich in 2022.

The 2022/2023 campaign secured Lewandowski his sixth consecutive Golden Boot award, adding to the five consecutive wins in the German Bundesliga. Additionally, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen secured the Zamora award for the best goalkeeper and the Di Stefano award for the best player of the season, while Pedri was crowned Fan Favourite Player of the Season.

Expressing his joy and gratitude on Instagram after receiving the Pichichi Trophy during the vibrant award ceremony on November 23, 2023, Lewandowski thanked his teammates, coaches, and fans for their support.

As of now, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham leads the scoring charts in the ongoing 2023/2024 Laliga season with 10 goals and two assists in 11 games, while Lewandowski, facing injury setbacks, has contributed seven goals and three assists in 11 games. Villarreal’s Gerard Moreno and Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezman have each netted eight goals.

Acknowledging Bellingham’s prowess, Lewandowski commented on the challenges of scoring in Laliga due to defensive and physical playing styles but emphasized Barcelona’s ambition to not only win but also score prolifically.

With 25 more Laliga games ahead, Lewandowski believes there is ample opportunity for more goals and remains optimistic about Barcelona’s offensive capabilities. In addition to his Laliga contributions, Lewandowski has scored three goals and provided one assist in six Euro 2024 qualification games for Poland.

Barcelona currently holds the third position in the Laliga standings, amassing 30 points from 13 matches.
