Son Heung-min has described his relationship with Ange Postecoglou, revealing the new Tottenham manager has won the squad over with his down-to-earth manner.
Postecoglou and Spurs have proved to be a good fit so far, taking 26 points from their first ten Premier League games of the season before disappointing losses to Chelsea and Wolves. The Greek-Australian became the first head coach to win the league’s Manager of the Month award for the first three months of a single season.
With Harry Kane gone and Hugo Lloris out of the first-team picture, Son was made Tottenham captain before the start of the 2023/24 campaign and has scored eight league goals so far, just two shy of his tally for the previous term.
“It’s crazy actually the way he [Postecoglou] speaks…the way he talks is fantastic as a human being, as a coach, it’s nothing more than that. It’s amazing,” Son told Men in Blazers.
“I’m 31 years old, I learned many things before and I felt as a human I felt that I had enough, but then since he arrived I feel like ‘wow! I’m still a child’.
“The way he speaks, I feel like my heart is bouncing. I just want to go out and play for him and play for the club. It feels like he’s just part of my family.”
