Ibrahima Konate Injury Timeline Confirmed After Liverpool Defender Withdraws From France Squad

Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate has been forced to withdraw from the France squad as a result of his hamstring injury.

Konate pulled up in the warm-up ahead of Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Toulouse on Thursday and also missed the Reds’ victory over Brentford at the weekend.

He was supposed to join up with the France squad this week but Les Bleus have now confirmed that Konate has withdrawn from the team, with Chelsea’s Axel Disasi called up as his replacement.

“Victim of a small muscle injury to his left hamstring with Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday in Toulouse during the warm-up, Ibrahima Konate was unable to play this weekend with Liverpool,” a France statement read,

“His injury requiring approximately two weeks of treatment, Didier Deschamps, after speaking with Dr. Franck Le Gall, the doctor of the French team, recorded Ibrahima Konate’s withdrawal.”
