Bukayo Saka is a professional football player who has spent his entire club career with arsenal, he currently plays as a winger for the club and the England national team.
Born in Ealing, London on September 5, 2001 to Yoruba Nigerian parents, Yomi Saka and Adenike Saka. His name Bukayo comes from the Nigerian Yoruba tribe which translates to “adds to happiness”.
Saka started his first team match for Arsenal against Vorskla Poltava in November 29, 2018. He started as a substitute in the match which he then provided an assist for Arsenal’s fourth goal in a 4-2 victory.
Saka made his Premier League debut few months later in 2019 in a match against Fulham which resulted as a win for Arsenal.
In the 2019/20 season, he became a regular in Arsenal’s first team, playing in different positions, including left-back and left midfield also. He scored his first senior goal for the club on December 12, 2019, against Standard Liege in the Europa League match .
He played for England at various youth levels before he made his debut for the senior team in October 2020. He was part of England’s squad at the UEFA Euro 2020, and represented England at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Off the field, Saka is also known for his generosity and community work. He has also been involved in several projects to support the local community in London, including donating meals to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
