Edo Queens head coach Moses Aduku is upbeat his side will finish their campaign on a high by claiming third spot at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Nigerian champions will face Egypt’s FC Masar in the third-place match on Friday.

Aduku said it is important for his team to return home with a medal.

” It’s a football game, you win some, you lose some. But we are not down, we are not out yet, we are fighting for the 3rd place,” he told a press conference.

“So by tomorrow (Friday) I am expecting my girls to go all out and see how the can win the bronze medal.

“I know it’s not gonna be an easy one, the Egyptian team is also a good team. The last time we play them it was goalless but I believe goalless will not give us a bronze. So, definitely, we need to go all out to win.

“We are putting finishing touches in our training this afternoon and we go out tomorrow to finish the battle”.

Aduku also declared that he has psyche his players up after the disappointment of their semi-final loss to TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo.

“Yes, all the players were down, they were disappointed because it was not the result we wanted. The match was almost over, we lost concentration and when we ended the game the entire team was down but, of course, as a coach I had to talk to them,” he added.
