Tottenham Hotspur will need to improve if they are to challenge for a place in the Champions League this summer, after narrowly missing out on the top four last season.

Ange Postecoglou will need to get Dominic Solanke firing if they are to stand any chance of enjoying a successful season, as he’s struggled to impress so far.

Tottenham have been told by Gabriel Agbonlahor to keep with Solanke and let him find his feet, and to be fair he’s spent time out injured so he’ll naturally need time to adjust.

Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall’s performances were a positive last night, as Ange called them ‘very good‘.

The two summer signings have already shown they have what it takes to perform in the Premier League in limited minutes, but Ange won’t want to overuse them at this stage in their careers.

Interestingly, it appears as if the Lilywhites are already looking at strengthening…

Tottenham have a strong interest in signing £86m star

The fact that Son Heung-min is the only Spurs player with more than one goal shows the need for Dominic Solanke to find his feet, with three defenders on one goal.

And, it appears as if the start to the season has made Tottenham look towards a potential January signing.

According to Caught Offside, Tottenham have a strong interest in signing Viktor Gyokeres.

Chelsea, Spurs and PSG look like the main names to watch for the moment.

Tottenham are believed to have shown the strongest interest in Gyokeres, while Chelsea are keeping that option open as they are also expected to try again for Victor Osimhen either this January or next summer.

However, his release clause is £86m, so it remains to be seen if Spurs will meet it.

How good is Viktor Gyokeres?

Viktor Gyokeres has continued his fine form this season at Sporting Lisbon, after a 43-goal campaign in the last campaign.

He now has nine goals and three assists in just seven games in all competitions, including a brilliant goal in Sporting’s opening Champions League game.

Gyokeres came out and voiced his disappointment with the price tag he’s had slapped on him by his current club, as it appeared to put off interested parties like Arsenal and Liverpool in the summer.

After spending around £65 million on Solanke in the summer, it remains to be seen as to whether Daniel Levy would sanction a potentially bigger deal.
