A transfer deal to bring Oli McBurnie from Sheffield United to Las Palmas could the most bizarre La Liga deal this summer.
Las Palmas are on the hunt for a new striker after avoiding relegation from the top-flight at the end of 2023/24.
The Canarians managed just 33 league goals last season, as the lowest third lowest in La Liga, with no player scoring more than six.
As a result, the club have cast their net wide to source a new forward, and McBurnie has emerged as bold option after Sheffield United’s Premier League relegation.
The Scotland international was released by the Blades after opting against a contract extension in West Yorkshire.
He is available as a free transfer, and as per the latest from Fabrizio Romano, Las Palmas are closing in.
The 28-year-old is expected to complete a medical in the coming days, with a contract only expected to be for the incoming season, as Las Palmas keep their options open.
