Atletico Madrid have been linked with a change up front this season, and Alvaro Morata‘s departure could be key to making that happen. The 31-year-old forward has given the green light to an exit.

Morata has been extensively linked with a move back to Italy this summer, which is reportedly his preference, but according to Relevo, he has given the green light to move to Saudi Arabia, following Nacho Fernandez, Michel and Adrian to recently promoted Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League.

They say that other clubs were interested, but none have the power to come close to Al-Qadsiah’s offer – Morata would earn €50m over the course of the deal. They are now in negotiations with Atletico over a fee. He has a €15m release clause, but he could leave for less.

Atletico have been locked in talks with Girona for Artem Dovbyk, who is their priority to replace Morata, but so far Los Rojiblancos have been unwilling to meet their €40m asking price. Relieving themselves of Morata’s salary and making some money on his exit might give them a little extra room for negotiation in that matter.
