Everton could now be lining up an audacious move to add to their forward line ahead of next season, aiming to improve on their 15th place finish.

Sean Dyche oversaw a strong end to the season, with Everton winning four of their last six games.

It hasn’t always been plane-sailing under Dyche, there’s certainly been periods of frustration, but there’s now adequate reason to be optimistic heading into next season.

Of course, that caveat to that good-feeling will be the club’s restrictive financial situation, making their summer transfer plans a little uncertain.

It’s often been reported that the Merseyside club will have to sell one of their stars for a significant profit, with fans probably hoping that’s Amadou Onana rather than Jarrad Branthwaite – if they were forced to choose one.

Branthwaite has been extensively linked with Manchester United, a situation that may kick-on or even diminish depending on their future with Erik ten Hag.

That being said, it’s not all about selling for Everton this summer, and Goal has just shared that Everton could reignite some recent transfer plans.

Everton could make another move to sign Leeds’ Wilfried Gnonto this summer

The information was initially reporting that Everton could be interested in making Jack Harrison’s move permanent this summer, with his loan now concluded.

And then, with a move depending on Everton’s financial situation, the report believed that Everton could also try and tempt Wilfried Gnonto back to the Premier League again.

Gnonto’s future was a hot topic last summer, when Everton submitted a bid for the Italian international.

And with Leeds failing in their quest to return to the top flight at Wembley on Sunday, perhaps he could be a player who finally moves on.

Leeds need to raise cash, hence why Crysencio Summerville is also expected to leave this summer, and perhaps Everton could profit as a result.

But as mentioned, any deal for Gnonto, who proved his ‘exceptional’ levels in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, would perhaps depend on Everton selling a player first.

Gnonto was previously valued at £25m, and it remains to be seen how much he would cost now.

All that being said, Everton have also now been linked with signing another ‘future star’.
