It has just emerged, that Everton are interested in signing a ‘future star’ with 17 goal involvements last season, according to a recent report.

Sean Dyche will be desperate to add to his squad in the fast-approaching summer transfer window and build on what was a positive season.

If Everton didn’t get eight points deducted, they would’ve finished the campaign level on points with Brighton in 11th place.

Evidently, that is a great sign of progression under Dyche but they can’t afford to stand still, new signings must be made this summer and it seems one has been identified.

Everton interested in Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are interested in signing Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh, who enjoyed a productive loan spell at Feyenoord last term.

The ‘future star’ netted 11 times whilst laying on six assists for the Dutch outfit, who finished runners-up to PSV in the Eredivisie.

The Magpies outlaid £6m on his signature from Odense BK last summer so it seems unlikely they’d be willing to sanction a permanent move.

Though, perhaps a loan deal could be on the cards, particularly if Newcastle chiefs don’t view Everton as direct rivals.

Everton’s interest in Minteh is hardly surprising when you take a look at his impressive FBref statistics.

The teenage wide player ranks in the top one per cent for progressive carries compared to his positional peers across Europe, evincing his terrific dribbling ability.

Further, he sits in the top five per cent for shot-creating actions, amplifying his excellent playmaking skillset.

If Everton are to land Minteh’s signature this summer, it would represent a shrewd signing.
