Tottenham Hotspur signed Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest last summer, and now, they’re being linked with another winger from The City Ground.

Tottenham may need to add more quality depth in wide areas.

Bryan Gil is set to leave, Timo Werner isn’t likely to be retained, Manor Solomon appears to be perennially injured, while Dejan Kulusevski is moving more and more often into a central position.

Luckily, the summer transfer window is about to open, and new reinforcements in wide areas could be on the way in the shape of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

According to The Guardian, Spurs are interested in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi from Nottingham Forest.

The winger only joined the Reds last summer in a deal worth £3m, and it’s fair to say he’s proven to be a bargain.

Hudson-Odoi has played a key role in Forest’s Premier League survival this season, and it looks like he’s ready for another shot at a top club after leaving Chelsea.

Tottenham need depth out wide, and Hudson-Odoi could be just what the doctor ordered.

Interestingly, Hudson-Odoi has previously received praise from a Tottenham legend – Harry Kane.

Back in 2019, Hudson-Odoi received an England call-up, and during that time, Kane spoke highly of the winger, describing him as a fantastic player with the ability to play at the highest level.

“Callum has had a taste of cup competition and a little bit in the Premier League and I am sure he wants to gain that experience at the highest level,” Kane said.

“For him and young players coming through it is vital they play and have that experience.

“Everyone knows he is a fantastic player but in football you have ups and downs and it is part of the journey.

“I have no doubt he has the ability to play at the highest level.”

Of course, Hudson-Odoi’s career since then hasn’t gone to plan as injuries have taken hold, but after a promising season with Forest, the attacker seems to be back on the right track and a move to Tottenham could now give him a route back to playing European football next season.
