Arsenal could be about to miss out on one of their summer transfer targets.

Victor Osimhen is a player that the Gunners have been consistently linked with in recent months, but, by the sounds of things, the Nigerian striker will be headed elsewhere.

Indeed, according to Tom Barclay, speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Osimhen is likely to join PSG this summer.

Barclay says that Osimhen will cost around £100m this summer, and if he was to put money on the Napoli star moving anywhere this summer, he’d back a move to PSG.

Victor Osimhen likely to join PSG

Barclay shared his verdict on Osimhen’s future.

“Spurs would never spend £100m on one player, Osimhen will cost that type of money, and if I was a betting man I’d say he was going to Paris-Saint Germain,” Barclay said.

PSG move makes sense

As nice as it would be to see Osimhen come to the Premier League, a move to PSG makes the world of sense.

Osimhen has already spent some time in France with Lille, so settling into Ligue 1 won’t be an issue, while PSG need a new superstar attacker once they lose Kylian Mbappe.

Osimhen is perhaps the biggest name attacker who will be on the market this summer, so it’s not a shock to hear that PSG are likely to go all out to sign him.

Arsenal may have to look elsewhere in their pursuit of a new centre-forward, and luckily for the Gunners, there are a number of exciting options out there from Viktor Gyokeres to Benjamin Sesko.

Who Arsenal sign in that position this summer remains to be seen, but it looks as though the north London club won’t end up landing Osimhen.

Osimhen will thrive at PSG, and he should be able to pick up where Mbappe is leaving off.
