Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in world football.
The England captain has broken all sorts of records wherever he has been, and it’s fair to say that Kane is an all-time great striker.
Speaking to Goal on TikTok, the Bayern Munich star has been ranking and rating some other legendary strikers, and he’s reserved some special praise for a Manchester United icon.
Indeed, Kane says that Ruud van Nistelrooy is a player he loved to watch when he was growing up, but he ultimately picked Ronaldo ahead of him.
Harry Kane loved Ruud van Nistelrooy
Kane spoke about the former Manchester United man and how much he loved him.
“R9 or Ruud van Nistelrooy?
“Ooh, I loved Van Nistelrooy growing up, but I’d have to say R9,” Kane said.
Kane and Van Nistelrooy are similar
It’s not at all surprising to hear that Van Nistelrooy was one of Kane’s favourite players as a youngster. After all, they’re very similar.
Indeed, you can easily imagine that Kane used to try to emulate the Dutchman during his formative days as footballer learning his trade.
Both players were defined by their lethal finishing ability, and there’s a real argument to make that Kane and Van Nistelrooy are the two best finishers the Premier League has ever seen.
Of course, Kane scored way more goals than Van Nistelrooy in the Premier League as he spent longer playing in England, but, Van Nistelrooy did win more trophies with Manchester United.
Both players are incredible strikers who will go down in Premier League history.
You have to be a very special player to earn this sort of praise from Kane, and it’s fair to say that United’s £19m signing of Van Nistelrooy all those years ago was a masterstroke.
