Everton are now said to be considering a move for a Premier League striker who has matched the scoring of both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto combined this season.

Sean Dyche’s side have enjoyed a fairly strong end to the season finishing on 40 points despite their deduction.

Everton won three of their last five games and provided real optimism that things could continue to improve next season, should adequate investment be made.

Of course, Everton aren’t widely expected to be able to do that unless players are sold, with clubs continuing to circle around both Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana.

Fans will probably confess that they’d rather see the latter depart, given Branthwaite has become such a crucial member of Dyche’s XI.

Onana has played an important role, but has been fairly interchangeable with the other options the Everton manager has available.

That being said, the club will need to be smart when it comes to improving their squad given the limited finances reported.

And according to a new report by TEAMtalk, Everton are now preparing plans to acquire a new goal-scorer.

Everton planning move for Luton Town striker Elijah Adebayo if funds are raised this summer

According to the information mentioned, Everton are now interested in signing Luton Town striker Elijah Adebayo.

Having been relegated on the final day of the season, Rob Edwards’ team are expected to face interest for several of their top performers.

Adebayo was one of the shining lights of their campaign scoring 10 goals either side of a disruptive injury.

Sean Dyche is said to be a huge admirer of the striker who has scored as many goals as Dominic Calvert-Lewin (seven) and Beto (three) combined in the Premier League this campaign.

It remains to be seen how much Luton would demand for the 26-year-old who had no prior Premier League experience before this season.

Adebayo’s record in the top flight, 10 goals in 27 games, is much improved on his 28 strikes in 100 Championship matches.

Dyche must therefore be convinced that the English striker’s form is more than just a purple patch and he does have the legs to stay in the division with Everton.

All that being said, it seems as if Everton could remarkably be set to face two takeovers in quick succession this summer.
