Jurgen Klopp will manage his last Liverpool game this weekend, and he’ll leave the Premier League behind with the landscape looking very interesting.

Klopp leaves Liverpool in a good position to go on and challenge in the future, but with Manchester City looking so dominant and Arsenal ever-improving, the Reds may struggle to win the league in the coming years.

Speaking to The Times, Klopp has been discussing the lie of the land in the Premier League, and while he’s noted that things are going well for Arsenal right now, he’s forecast some problems in the future surrounding a couple of players.

Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus could be problems for Arsenal

Klopp spoke about Arsenal, and he says that they could have a problem on the horizon as Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus aren’t playing at the moment, questioning if Mikel Arteta will be able to navigate this situation.

“OK, Arsenal, young, they can go again, they will have problems like everyone else. [Leandro] Trossard playing and not [Gabriel] Martinelli any more and Gabriel Jesus not playing but [Kai] Havertz playing. How will that work out?” Klopp said.

“Can he [Mikel Arteta] really manage that? There are always potential problems. If you are successful, there are problems. If you are nearly successful, there are problems.

“Pep [Guardiola] will not stay for ever there at City, even [Kevin] De Bruyne gets older, Bernardo Silva gets older, Phil Foden plays another 12 years, of course, and Erling Haaland.”

Gabriel Martinelli could be an issue

It’s fair to say that Klopp knows his onions when he’s talking about management, and he’s right to pinpoint Gabriel Martinelli as a potential problem player.

The £6m man has had to spend plenty of time on the bench this season, and if that continues, he’d have every right to kick up a fuss.

Mikel Arteta has found it easy to be ruthless with his players when things are going badly, but how will he cope with a similar situation when things are going well?
