Ange Postecoglou hasn’t been happy this week.

The Australian had a real rant during his post-match press conference after the defeat against Manchester City, while, during the game, he was also filmed having a go at a fan.

Indeed, footage did the rounds on social media this week of Postecoglou singling out a fan and shouting at him for some reason.

Speculation has been rampant about what this fan had done to trigger such a reaction from Postecoglou, and speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Tom Allnutt has shed some light on this situation.

What Tottenham fan was shouting at Ange Postecoglou

Allnutt shared what this fan was doing.

“I thought the behaviour of the fans was actually very good, but there were clearly some fans who took it too far.” Allnutt said.

The ones doing the Poznan, this guy behind Postecoglou, by all accounts, and I wasn’t next to him, he was constantly shouting at Postecoglou throughout the game that he needed to chuck the match and do things that would ensure they lost. I imagine that would be irritating for 90 minutes.”

Ange Postecoglou needs to keep his head

It must be annoying to have a fan shouting things like this at you for 90 minutes, but, at the same time, Ange Postecoglou has to be better than this.

The Australian can’t be rattled by one fan in a stadium of over 60,000, it shows a bit of a fragile mindset in a week that Postecoglou himself has been discussing fragility.

Make no mistake about it, Tottenham managers over the years have had much worse shouted at them on the touchline, and there’s never been a reaction quite like this.

The pressure is seemingly getting to Postecoglou at the moment, and this summer break can’t come soon enough for the Spurs boss.
