Cesc Fabregas has shared whether he believes the Premier League title race will be decided on Tuesday when Manchester City face Tottenham Hotspur, with Arsenal currently top of the table.

Technically, the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday ensured that the title race will go down to the final day of the season, with Mikel Arteta’s men top of the table after Leandro Trossard scored the only goal at Old Trafford.

Many will still have Manchester City as the favourites, with Pep Guardiola’s men boasting a game in hand over the Gunners. However, Arsenal have the advantage of being one point clear and having the better goal difference.

Manchester City’s game in hand comes on Tuesday, when they face Tottenham – a game which throws up all kinds of subplots given the North London rivalry and City’s poor record at Spurs’ new home.

City face West Ham on the final day, while Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates.

Cesc Fabregas was asked on Planet Premier League whether he expects the two title-chasers to win on the final day, and thus, he thinks that Tuesday’s game is the vital one for deciding who is getting their hands on the trophy.

“If you’re asking me, for me, yes. I think Tuesday is the game that decides the title, yeah,” he said.

Arsenal will hope pressure works in their favour

Pressure certainly could make a strange thing happen over the next few days. Manchester City know better than anyone how turbulent final day games can be.

But they will not be looking past Tottenham either, particularly given that Ange Postecoglou’s side are always so brave. They produced a remarkable performance at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season when their squad had been decimated by injury.

Ultimately, four points from two games is highly unlikely to be enough for City to win the title, and Tuesday’s game feels like the bigger hurdle with Arsenal having the points on the board at this stage.
