Davinson Sanchez has taken to Instagram to send a message to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s post reflecting on the season.

Spurs have one home game left this term, but they marked the final Saturday of the season with a lap of honour after their 2-1 victory over Burnley which keeps their slim top-four hopes alive.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg came off the bench for the final few minutes against the Clarets. It is something the Dane has had to get used to this season, with 27 of his 34 appearances in the Premier League coming from the bench.

Unsurprisingly, there is speculation that Hojbjerg will leave Tottenham this summer. With that, his post on Instagram following the win over Burnley may prove to be even more poignant.

The 28-year-old noted that he will always give everything he can, no matter what the circumstances are. And perhaps it was significant that Hojbjerg made no mention of what may be to come next season.

Ange Postecoglou may have to make difficult decision this summer

You would imagine that Hojbjerg would be a player Ange Postecoglou would be very happy to keep if Tottenham do not receive a good enough offer over the coming months.

Of course, Hojbjerg would have preferred to play more, but it can only help having players such as him pushing those in the starting lineup.

And he would leave a void if he does find another club over the summer. Having said that, Tottenham will be looking to really kick on next year, and Hojbjerg does not appear to be as comfortable in Postecoglou’s system as the Spurs boss would need him to be.

So this summer may prove to be the right time for all parties to go their separate ways, with Spurs ideally receiving a substantial fee for someone many clearly view as a model professional.
