Tottenham Hotspur have finally returned to winning ways by seeing off Burnley to narrow the gap between themselves and Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou’s charges were desperate to return to winning ways after losing their last four games in the top flight prior to Saturday.

Admittedly, Tottenham didn’t make the best start in north London, falling behind in the 25th minute to Jacob Bruun Larsen’s well-taken effort.

However, it didn’t take long for Spurs to equalise, Pedro Porro surging into the box and firing home in the 32nd minute of the game.

Tottenham had plenty of chances to race ahead, but they had to wait until the 82nd minute before they finally turned the game around.

Micky van de Ven was the unlikely scorer, slotting home after great movement from Dane Scarlett to help the defender find space.

Plenty of Spurs players did well on the day, and Postecoglou was eager to praise some of his substitutes, including Radu Dragusin.

The 22-year-old replaced Oliver Skipp in the 75th minute as Van de Ven shifted to left-back and was solid in his cameo, making an important late tackle.

What did Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou say about Radu Dragusin?

Postecoglou told football.london after the game: “Radu coming on I thought was very good when he came on as well, so it helped us get over the line.”

Later on in the post-match press conference, the Spurs boss added: “Radu did well so the subs made an impact.”

Dragusin is having to bide his time at Tottenham, with just seven appearances, two starts and 244 minutes of football under his belt at N17.

However, there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. The Premier League is a hard league to get used to, and many players nowadays need a bit of time to get up to speed.

The £50,000-a-week ace is acclimatising at Spurs and getting used to Postecoglou’s style of play, and surely it won’t be long before he gets his chance at a run in the XI.
