£62m player Arsenal tried to sign last year could go up for sale in January

Arsenal will be fairly happy for the most part with their summer business, having bolstered their ranks in various areas.
Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, Neto and Raheem Sterling have all joined the Gunners over the past few months.
But despite the English transfer window now being shut, Arsenal – and other top clubs – will likely be keeping an eye on next year’s market.
Now, according to GiveMeSport, a player the Gunners tried to sign in the January 2023 window could be available once again.

Chelsea could offload Mykhailo Mudryk just two years after beating Arsenal to his signing
The player in question is Mykhailo Mudryk, whose decision to pick Chelsea over Arsenal hasn’t exactly reaped dividends.
Mudryk was heavily linked with the Gunners in 2022 as they went toe to toe with Chelsea for his signature at the start of the following year.
In the end, the Blues prevailed over Arsenal as they signed him for an initial £62million plus £26.5million in add-ons (Sky Sports).
However, Mudryk has struggled since his move from Shakhtar Donetsk. He has made 62 appearances, but with just seven goals and five assists to his name.
This has led to him slipping down the pecking order and, according to GiveMeSport, Chelsea are thinking of cutting their losses.
If he does not start to live up to his potential over the autumn and winter months, then they could look to move him on, said the report.

Could Arsenal repeat Raheem Sterling masterstroke?
It remains to be whether Arsenal would be willing to move again for Mudryk considering the efforts they put in to sign him, only for him to join Chelsea instead.
However, the Gunners have already struck gold once with regards to signing an out-of-favour forward from Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal didn’t pay them a loan fee for Raheem Sterling and, according to reports, are paying just 30 percent of his salary.
With that in mind, if Chelsea are looking to offload Mudryk for a low fee, or maybe even on loan, the Gunners should certainly give it some thought.
After all, there have already been murmurs regarding whether the Ukraine international should have gone to Arsenal instead.
For instance, former Chelsea man Scott Minto recently told Simon Phillips that Mudryk “would be a lot better in an Arsenal shirt than he would in a Chelsea shirt.”
